María José Benvenuto (b. 1990, Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean abstract painter whose work blends intuition, memory, and a deep connection to nature. After studying Visual Arts at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, she relocated to Sydney in 2018, a change that transformed her palette and inspired a series of gestural, landscape-inflected abstractions imbued with the energy of ocean, bushland, and coastal light. Her paintings have been shown internationally, from Miami and Basel to London, Lima, Santiago, and Sydney, with solo exhibitions at galleries such as M. Contemporary Gallery and a 2024 solo presentation at Leila Heller Gallery in Dubai.
