Laurent Dorchin is a self-taught French painter and a leading figure in the Art Brut movement. His passion for painting began at the age of 17 following a formative encounter with the expressionist artist Ramon Grimalt, leading him to explore outsider art across mediums such as wood and canvas. His work is instinctive, joyful, and rebellious, blending reality and imagination through gentle, humorous characters and a refined balance of material, color, and form. Dorchin’s expressive practice has been exhibited widely in France and internationally, including across Europe, the United States, and China.
